Second Issue Twenty-Five Cent Note Washington On Obverse Purple Reverse Without Surcharges.
PMG-Graded "Choice", 63 EPQ.
The EPQ (Exceptional Paper Quality), and "Choice" designations a reasonably perfect looking note. Close to Gem margins, and near perfect graphics, make as pleasing an example of an uncirculated note.

Off hand, we can think of few if any other obverse
fractional notes featuring a "vignette". This short study
suggests the connection between the agrarian, and the industrial aspects
of economy, Jefferson championing the former and Hamilton the latter.
This issue was the first government effort to engrave and print its
own currency, the first issue being contracted out to two printing companies.

Well Margined, With Paper Somewhat Darker On Reverse. No Pin Holes. Imperceptible Separation At Lower Left Reverse Margin, Perhaps 1/16th-inch Long. Strong Colors, Nice Corners, And An Inverted Plate Number--Have Seen Others In Same Location On Issue "Two" Notes. EF
